Corcovado National Park, Costa Rica

This beautiful pit viper had just caught and was eating a lizard when we found it next to our campsite in The Sirena Research Centre on The Osa Penninsula.

The Fer-de-Lance is Costa Rica’s most feared snake as apparently 50% of all snake bites are from this nocturnal predator. The camouflage was amazing, you could barely make it out in the leaf litter…slightly nerve wracking as we were hacking through the forest whilst filming at night!
