Like many places there was a heatwave in Alaska this summer which meant the mass of thermals and layers I’d bought remained firmly packed. Luckily the days were long and when it cooled off the light was extraordinarily beautiful and in the meantime we had some properly awesome scenery to gaze at.
Hallo Bay is such a wonderful wildlife haven but what really gets me is the tranquility – no cars, just the odd float plane buzzing over head and more bears than people. An excellent ratio to which I’d like to stick to more often!
